The older I get, the more conscious I become of these phrases: “Be careful what you put out in the atmosphere”, and “Life and Death is in the Power of the tongue.” I truly believe that the things we speak- we give life to, and so I carefully watch what I say out loud.

I hear people unconsciously saying things like, “I’m broke, I’m not rich”, “I will have student loan debt forever”, or, “girl… that’s going to take years to happen”. But, what we don’t realize is that we give life to those things every time it comes out of our mouth.

I decided I wanted to purchase a deep freezer, but because of this pandemic they are sold out everywhere. One of my Sorority Sisters had purchased one a month prior and she said to herself, “I’m going to have a freezer.” And she had one within a week. I said to myself a few times a week ago, I’m putting my request out there too. On a Wednesday, I said out loud: “Lord, I need you to bless me with a freezer by the end of this weekend.” The next day, I was told by an appliance employee that I shouldn’t expect to see them until October-ish.

I went home and said it again out loud: “I am going to have a freezer by the end of this weekend.” On Friday, in the early afternoon was sitting on my couch and my Soror sent me a text: Mo, they have freezers here at Home Depot.15 minutes later I was loading it onto my cart to purchase before the weekend really got started.

I’m not sure what you have been putting into the atmosphere. But this is just a reminder in case you need to change your language to speak life…. and blessings into your heart’s desires.

I don’t care if it seems impossible. Speak it. I don’t care what the doctors say. Speak it. I don’t care what your bank account looks like. Speak it. Changing your language, changes your behavior and eventually, changes your circumstance.
