When my part-time dog “Fella” (yes, part-time, that’s another story) wants to play, he lays his toy down at my feet and stares at me. When I don’t respond he picks it up a few times and drops it back at my feet. When that doesn’t work, he places the toy in my lap, backs up and stares at me until I am forced to make eye contact with him. The moment I do look his way, his excitement becomes uncontrollable. His persistence is relentless.

A few weeks ago we had this same interaction and it dawned on me, this is exactly how our relationship should be with Jesus. When we want something or need something from our Master, we should approach Him confidently and lay our prayer requests at His feet. Our faith should be like Fella’s persistent stare, until we get a response we should not take our eyes off of His promises. He said in His word, Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.  For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened” Matthew 7:7-8.

In a world that can bring about many doubts, fears and delays, be self-assured like Fella that your Master will hear you, see you and in His perfect timing answer you.
